Questions
About switchfile and CloudConvert.
How do you work out the price difference?
We take the CloudConvert subscription steps from 500 to 100,000 credits listed below and put each next to our cheapest plan that includes at least as many credits. We show both monthly prices and the price per credit. Where our plan includes more credits than the step, it can cost more a month. Its price slider has more steps in between. One-time packages are compared on their own. Both sides include 19% VAT. Credits are counted a little differently, so compare with your own mix of files.
Is a credit the same thing at both?
Close. Both count credits by conversion time and charge more for some types. CloudConvert names a base cost per type, for example 2 for Office to PDF and 4 for PDF to Office. At switchfile: Credits follow the conversion time: one credit per started minute. Each conversion costs at least 1 credit, and converting Office files or ebooks to PDF costs at least 2 credits.
Can I move my CloudConvert code?
Yes, for the v2 jobs API. Change the base URL and the API key; the migration guide lists the few options and settings that differ.
