CR2 and JPG at a glance
CR2
CR2 is the raw photo format of older Canon cameras. It holds the unprocessed sensor data and needs a raw editor or a converter before you can share it.
JPG
JPG is the standard format for photos and is accepted everywhere. It compresses images well, but each save loses a little quality and it has no transparency.
