Questions
About converting MP4 to MP3.
What ends up in the MP3 file?
Only the sound. The picture is dropped. If your MP4 has several audio tracks, you get the one marked as default, or the first one if none is marked.
What quality does the MP3 have?
By default the MP3 uses a variable bitrate at high quality, which averages around 190 kbit/s for music. You can also choose a fixed bitrate between 96 and 320 kbit/s. If your MP4 already contains MP3 audio, the default settings do not lower its sound quality.
What happens to surround sound in my MP4?
MP3 holds at most two channels, so surround audio is mixed down to stereo.
Will the MP3 file have a watermark?
No. Converted files never get a watermark, free conversions included.
Where are my files stored?
On servers in the EU, and only for 24 hours. After that they are deleted automatically.
